Baptism of
Holy Spirit
Receiving Holy Spirit happened in the Old Testament by some, ex; Moses, David, Solomon, Elijah, Elisha and major prophets. This is what we know, Holy Spirit in us now is a privilege, not a right, so to speak. Holy Spirit is given to those who love or obey Christ.
John 14:15-16
Acts 5:32
We are often told to say a prayer for receiving the Spirit of Christ or Holy Spirit. (Romans 8:9-11) which can be true if our heart is surrendered to the Gospel. We believe that when you truly believed, you received the promise Holy Spirit (John 7:38). We can experience Him by an overflow (prophecy, tongues, magnifying God) This is determined by how much you have surrendered to Christ at conversion.

We have seen some people who just received the Gospel and are overflowing from their mouth, Him, but we have also seen months take place before any manifestation of the Spirit.
Acts 10:44-46 (Cornelius House)

We see in the book of Acts an overflow, same Holy Spirit but different surrender and hunger. Unbelief through wrong doctrine is usually the reason we do not see the overflow of Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit has always been since the beginning (Genesis) Jesus shows us what happens when He comes into you. Matthew 3:16-17
After fasting He walked in power, Luke 4:14
Preached in power, Luke 4:18-19
And was persecuted, Luke 4:28-30

Holy Spirit is to be eagerly desired along with His gifts. Ask, seek, knock and the door will be opened for you (Luke 11:13), be persistent with a heart of surrender from sin towards Christ.

Holy Spirit is a gift and a promise to you and for everyone who is far off.
Acts 2:38-39.

Baptism of Holy Spirit was received right away upon believing along baptism of water. Baptism of Holy Spirit is a complete immersion of Him by Jesus Christ, He is the baptizer John 1:33.

The baptism of Holy Spirit is not for selfish gain or wrong motives.
Ezekiel 36:25-28
Romans 8:9-11
The receiving Holy Spirit gives power to witness to others to perform the great commission.
Matthew 28:18
Mark 16:15

Holy Spirit is a teacher and is referred to as the anointing. 1 John 2:27
You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be witnesses (martyrs). When we receive precious Holy Spirit, you become a new creation and are now the temple of Holy Spirit. The Old Testament temple is now you!
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Paul here is speaking to born again believers who repented of sin and turned to God. The reason baptism of Holy Spirit is not experienced or seen in the western church are because of many reasons, I will give you three.

1. Wrong teaching, the church system today has leaders who have never seen or experienced His tangible love to overflowing.

2. Sin in our lives, sin grieves Holy Spirit. Ephesians 4:30

3. Asking for selfish reasons, you can not receive the Spirit of Christ without absolute surrender of your life to Him, deny yourself and pick up your cross. Acts 8:20-24
