Sin is the problem

Sin separates us from God and all who practice sin will enter judgment here on earth and in the great white throne judgment. Revelation 2:10, 20:12-13

Sin has always been the problem since the fall, or the beginning of time. We need a savior.

Sin separates us from eternal life now and for eternity. We need atonement from our sin, Jesus Christ is that by His death, burial and resurrection. His resurrection provided a way out of sin, its power and the consequences of our sin, but we must receive this grace (Gods divine influence on our heart) by receiving the gift of righteousness through repentance, water baptism and receiving the promise Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38.

We cannot receive salvation now by our own works, or by Moses law expressed by ordinances.

The Gospel must be preached to everyone. Knowing that our sin is the problem, we reach out to His Grace, His Righteousness through repentance from sin and turning to Christ through faith, obedience follows. Obedience always follows true conversion or born again experience.

Peter, in Acts 2 preaches the Gospel of Christ and they ask what do we do? Acts 2:37.

Peter also said to repent everyone of you and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and you shall receive the promised Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38.

This is the response to the Gospel. In other words this is a non believer saying I am cut to the heart, my sin has called me out, and I have decided to give my life to You and the first step after the grace of God is to repent from sin and trust in Him from this moment forward. You may receive Holy Spirit or the Spirit of Christ at this point. Romans 8:9. Either way hands would be laid upon you to receive and a change in you occurs.
