Water Baptism

Baptizo, Bapto and Baptisma in the Greek.

Water baptism was intended to be done in full immersion of water, not a sprinkling or on babies as we see in the Catholic church, infant baptism cannot be a death of the old man, they haven’t sinned yet or haven’t repented Acts 2:38. Water baptism is a funeral of the old man of sin. The Israelites crossing the Red Sea in Exodus is an example of appropriating what Christ has done for us in the water. It puts a demand on God for a clean conscience. 1 Peter 3:21.

God works in that ceremonial rite, it’s an event where you die with Christ to live a new life. Romans 6

Water baptism in its self does not get you to heaven, but saves you (delivers) as it did the Hebrew people in the Red Sea from Egypt.

God works in this rite by faith, we come out of this water in a new life!

Romans 6:4

Galatians 3:26

1 Corinthians 10:1-2

Matthew 28:19

Mark 16:16

Acts 8:12

Acts 10:48

This baptism is a command from God, this is a ceremonial ablution (internal cleansing).
